100 Days of School

On the last Monday of Term 2 we had been at school for 100 days this year!  Having counted down the days, filled our jelly bean jar and read over 100 books we were eager to celebrate.  There were so many ways we were able to work with the number 100 in both maths and literacy.  We did lots of counting forwards and backwards, in twos, fives and tens.  We grouped objects in tens, made displays of 100 things, participated in class challenges with Room 11 (seeing if we could bring in 100 tins of pet food to donate to the SPCA;  seeing how many words we could make from the phrase 'one hundred days of school').  We also wrote a descriptive story of what we thought we would look and be like when we turn 100 years old.  These stories were sent home as published writing and I hope you enjoyed the original and imaginative images they conveyed.

This was a great week of fun and celebration and an ideal way to end the term!
